Barn Burner is a lakeside retreat in Donner Lake that blends modern minimalism with deeply personal heritage. The clients wanted a warm, contemporary cabin that felt connected to family history, so KTG integrated reclaimed barnwood salvaged from their ancestral Michigan property into beams, shelving, and architectural accents throughout the home. Paired with stone, concrete, and steel-framed glazing, the materials create a quiet rhythm of old and new. Thoughtful flow, durable surfaces, and expansive lake views shape a retreat meant for gathering, reflection, and legacy.
